How to play Mancala

  1. Each player owns the six pits on their side and the large store at their right.
  2. On your turn pick one of your own pits, take every stone out of it, and drop one stone into each pit as you move around the board towards your store.
  3. Your own store counts along the way. Your opponent’s store is skipped entirely.
  4. If your last stone lands in your own store, you take another turn straight away.
  5. If your last stone lands in one of your own empty pits, you capture that stone plus every stone in the pit directly opposite — all of them go into your store.
  6. When one player’s side is completely empty, the game ends. The other player sweeps every stone left on their side into their own store.
  7. The player with the most stones in their store wins. With 48 stones in play, 25 or more is a win.
